Rhea has a background in Biomedical Engineering with a BS from the University of Arizona where she worked on polarized light imaging methods for the validation of diffusion MRI orientational measurements. She began her PhD work in 2023 to use diffusion MRI and intravital optical imaging to advance markers of microstructure and low in the brain.
